When we are struggling with emotional and behavioral problems, in ourselves or our family members, two aspects of the care are most important:
First, that our investment of time and money is worthwhile – we want to feel better and function better.
Second, the care we receive leaves us feeling acknowledged, understood, and respected. No one wants answers that come without some “tender loving care.”
This Art of Caring is a critical component to effective healing – we get better not just because of what is done, but because of how it is done.
