THE ROTARY CLUB OF SAN JUAN BAUTISTA
The Rotary Club of San Juan Bautista, founded in 1996, is dedicated to serving throughout our community and around the world.
The Rotary Club of San Juan Bautista is just one of 34,000 Rotary clubs across the globe. The first service club was established in 1905 by Paul P. Harris, “who wished to capture in a professional club the same friendly spirit he had felt in the small towns of his youth…As Rotary grew, its mission expanded beyond serving club members’ professional and social interests. Rotarians began pooling their resources and contributing their talents to help serve communities in need. The organization’s dedication to this ideal is best expressed in its motto: Service Above Self.” (rotary.org)
The Rotary Club of San Juan Bautista unites with other clubs to support the most pressing challenges. “We focus our efforts in six areas: promoting peace, preventing diseases, providing access to clean water and sanitation, enhancing maternal and child health, improving basic education and literacy, and helping communities develop.” (rotary.org) Ending polio is the largest international challenge. Rotary has been actively fighting this awful disease since 1979 and now has helped to eradicate polio in all but three countries worldwide.
The Rotary Club of San Juan Bautista’s impact has been greatly acknowledged. Our Club members works tirelessly to find resources, giving of their time, and more often than not, giving generous donations to guarantee the success of all community and international projects.
