Sharp Image Energy, Inc. (SIE)
is an oil production and exploration company that has been in business for approximately 28 years being incorporated in April 1986 by Vince Hatfield (owner). The main corporate office is in Big Spring, Texas with an exploration office in Midland, Texas (geophysicist, geologist, as well as other employers). In 1999-2014, SIE drilled approximately 280 wells with 195 being successful, for a 15 year overall success rate of 70%. Continuing with its active drilling program, SIE’s currently daily oil production is approximately 1650 Barrels oil per day (BOE), as of 1/1/2014, per David Waldrop’s (B.B.A.- Accounting – S.I.E. Big Spring office) estimate.
SIE, which began using 3-D seismic technology in 1990, was one of the first oil companies in the Permian Basin to use 3-D in the exploration of Reef features, mostly along the Horseshoe Atoll, in Dawson, Howard, Scurry and Kent Counties. The Reef play continues to be our area of focus. SIE, and other VINCE HATFIELD owned operating companies, currently operates approximately 120 wells in Kent, Garza, Crosby, Borden, Howard, Scurry, Pecos and Crockett Counties, Texas. SIE also has upcoming 3-D seismic projects in progress in these Texas counties/Garza and Kent.
Vince Hatfield, President-Owner and sole stockholder of SIE, also owns a service company, West Texas Energy Services, LLC., which has a (2) drilling rigs, dozers, etc. The service company is an additional service for SIE and its partners. WTES’s 2 drilling rigs are great asset to have at all times, in order to continually explore for Oil and Gas, (and of course especially now that other Operators are presently (or will in the future), be waiting on a drilling rig.) Also West Texas Energy Services, LLC. due to the lack of pulling units available out in the oilfield, owns 2 (1-2005, 1-2010) purchased from TAYLOR RIGS, LLC., WITH state of the art technology, which of course is more efficient for SIE and it’s partners on completions of newly drilled wells, workovers, repairs, etc., which of course all need a Service Unit (Pulling, Completion Unit).
Staff members includes: In the Big Spring office the Accounting Department is headed by Mike Evans who is Vice-President of Sharp Image Energy, Inc., with a degree in accounting, as well as a masters degree in business, along with accountants David Waldrop, (B.B.A.). Steven Beck, Drilling Supervisor, with 18 years experience. Frank Bennett our primary completion supervisor, etc. has been an employee of SIE’S for approximately the last 13 years. David O’Brien, Production & Operations Manager, 34+ years experience, joining SIE in 2005. In the Midland office is Dave Burgard, geophysicist and Bill Collins, geophysicist, who both have approximately 40 years experience in oil and gas exploration. They operate SIE’s Midland Office Kingdom Suite geophysical workstation, coordinate our 3-D acquisitions, interpretations, etc.
We have excellent partners, which include large Public Oil & Gas Companies, (along with industry partners, several having been participating with SIE for approx. 20(±) years, as industry partners and which I sincerely appreciate and which have helped make SIE a successful oil and gas exploration and production company. Due to the continual ongoing 3D seismic shoots, and associated and thus subsequent continual drilling year around, SIE continues to look for a few other active industry partners.
