FIRESTONE PARK BAPTIST CHURCH
We’re a welcoming church situated in the Firestone Park neighborhood of Akron. Our church is 82 years old this past April, although only a few of us are!
We’ve been around long enough to see plenty of change in the world and still know what we believe. We go to this church because we like neighborhood churches. We like being able to meet all the people we worship with on Sunday morning. We like being able to ask the pastor over for dinner. And for some of us, we even like being able to walk to church on a Sunday morning!
All of us meet on Sunday mornings for service at 10:30. Some come early (at 9:30) for Sunday school. Some come Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm for Bible study. We have picnics together, go to baseball games together, and serve the poor and children of our neighborhood together.
We hold to standard evangelical confessions of faith – like this one. Fundamental to how we understand God is that Jesus of Nazareth, who came to Earth as a man, lived a sinless life, died for men’s sins, rose from the dead, and ascended back into Heaven, is Lord and Savior. We know about him primarily through the Bible – which is the written Word of God, without error and and supremely authoritative in all that it teaches.
