Corporate Lawyering Group
For the past 10 years, the Corporate Lawyering Group LLC, under the leadership of its President, Carole Basri, has developed conferences concerning ethics and other in-house counsel issues and created innovative compliance programs for major corporations. These conferences and innovative compliance programs are based on academic and practical knowledge of in-house corporate law departments. The mission of the Corporate Lawyering Group is to provide quality counseling to in-house law departments and cutting edge conferences on issues of concern to in-house lawyers.
The knowledge base for these conferences and compliance programs is founded on four treatises. The President of the Corporate Lawyering Group, Ms. Basri, is co-author of Corporate Legal Departments (3rd edition) published by the Practising Law Institute which will be translated in the Fall of 2009 by China Press into Chinese; the editor of International Corporate Practice published by Practising Law Institute; the co-editor of eDiscovery for Corporate Counsel for West Publishing; and editor of Corporate Compliance Practice Guide: The Next Generation of Compliance published by Lexis Nexis in October 2009.
The Corporate Lawyering Group has developed several conferences on ethics and in-house counsel issues including the Corporate Lawyering Accreditation Program in 1999 and the conference on Core Competencies for Corporate Counsel in 2001. Corporate Lawyering Group LLC has also developed many conferences and programs on corporate and international law with other well-known bar associations and legal providers.
The Corporate Lawyering Group has created comprehensive compliance and ethics programs for major corporations including The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, Cendant, Benjamin Moore & Co., and Dannon Inc. These programs were all launched within nine months and in many cases in multiple languages and locations. The Corporate Lawyering Group also provides advice on law department management, document retention, and corporate governance issues.
