We perform a complete eye health and vision examination with a refraction, microscopy, and dilation for retinal evaluation.
Yes, dilation. Why? Without dilating the pupils our ability to assess your retinal health is significantly limited and health problems could be missed. We assess the internal eye health as well as the external for everything from diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, retinal tears/detachments/holes, even certain types of cancers can present in the eyes before any symptoms begin. Some medications cause swelling in the retina. Along with evaluating your retinas we also observe for and asses the development of cataracts and ‘floaters’.
