The Better Living Center of Spokane serves inner-city Spokane, WA. Established in 1976, it has functioned for a number of years as a food pantry – the third largest in Spokane – serving about 450 families per month and distributing approximately 50,000 pounds of food each month. It is recognized as a charitable organization under the Upper Columbia Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Our mission statement: “As a faith-based organization, the Better Living Center exists exclusively for charitable, educational, and health-related activities for the purpose of following Christ’s example of service to the community – to nourish the body, mind, and spirit through unconditional love and care for the dignity of all people.”
The Better Living Center is primarily a food bank serving a specific section of the City of Spokane, WA. The assigned boundaries are: between Perry on the east and Monroe on the west and Francis on the north and Mission on the south.
