MONTROSE FIRE DISTRICT
Welcome to the Montrose Fire District web site. The Montrose Fire District, also known as the Montrose Fire Department and the Cortlandt Engine Company, is an all Volunteer Fire Department.
We are located in Westchester County, New York, approximately 35 miles north of New York City on the east side of the Hudson River. Our fire district, which is approximately 12 square miles and covers the Hamlet of Montrose and area’s of the Town of Cortlandt, is surrounded by the City of Peekskill and the Village of Buchanan F.D.’s to our north, the Verplanck Fire Protection Association to our west, the Lake Mohegan F.D. to our east, and the Croton F.D. to our south.
We operate 12 pieces of equipment out of one station. Our District, which is mostly residential with some light industry, also includes 3 nursing home centers, 1 apartment complex, 2 schools, areas of the Hudson River, U S Route 9, and the Metro-North Railroad.
