KNAPP PIZZA
The Sciortino family has been in the restaurant business since the early 1980s, and since 1993, Francesco, the youngest of six brothers, has owned and operated Knapp Pizza II on Avenue X.
He brings over twenty years of hands-on experience to his mission. In addition to Knapp Pizza II, his culinary insight and knowledge have helped many of his guests host outstanding parties thanks to Knapp Pizza’s catering service.
Francesco holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from CUNY. Born in the U.S., Francesco spent most of his youth in Sicily where he honed his cooking skills, grew his love for the culinary arts, and began to see food as a means for bringing families together.
He and his family have developed an abundance of authentic Italian recipes which are at the heart of Knapp Pizza’s quick casual concept.
In 2006 his nephew Frank (yeah, we don’t break old Sicilian traditions, not even with family names) joined the team as our chief of operations, bringing the family even closer just to serve Brooklyn better and better through time.
